As is the case with any new piece of legislation, training and appropriate guidance will be required for procurators fiscal, the police and others involved in its implementation. That will be taken into account as the Scottish Government coordinate implementation of the legislation.
The Bureau considers that any procedure, in its design or use, should take this into account.
The Committee therefore developed selection criteria which sought to take into account these views.
The bill requires the Scottish Government to lay the regulations containing the code and appoint an adjudicator within a year of the day after the bill receives royal assent.
