In 2024-25, the work of the mental health task force saved the equivalent of 20,000 hours across just over 4,000 referrals However, that is against a backdrop of the police having to respond to 650 mental health-related incidents a day.

This is my last question on pay and financial planning. I understand that, in June 2024, HES budgeted for a 2 per cent increase in pay despite the Scottish Government having set out a public sector pay policy just two months before that suggested an increase of 3 per cent in the public sector.
