Children (Scotland) Bill as amended at Stage 2
Introduction
At its meeting on 18 August 2020, the Delegated Powers and Law Reform Committee considered the delegated powers in the Children (Scotland) Bill ("the Bill") as amended at Stage 2.
If we do not get to the heart of the matter and address what is going on, people will simply re-present, and we need investment in early health, prevention and whole-family support services that is consistently applied right across the board in Scotland in order to understand what has happened and to help with recovery.
A number of significant pieces of legislation are coming through, including the National Care Service (Scotland) Bill, the Patient Safety Commissioner for ScotlandBill and the proposed human rightsbill.
Throughout the pandemic, the Scottish Government worked closely with banks in Scotland to better understand how we could protect businesses and facilitate economic recovery.

In the by-election for Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire held on 8 June 2017, the Scottish Government made no provision in relation to enfranchising prisoners and risked contravening the ECHR.
