I declare an interest as a trustee of the St Abbs Lifeboat trust. One of the best examples of a community campaign that I have ever seen was the campaign in St Abbs in Berwickshire for the creation of an independent lifeboat when the Royal National Lifeboat Institution withdrew its service.
