We should support amendment 53, because what it proposes would send out a clear message to all those who engage with the land register in a more general sense. It would allow MSPs to examine regularly the level of resource and support, and the Government direction, that would be required to ensure that the targets are met.

The following changes to Committee membership occurred during the Committee's scrutiny:
On 10 October 2024, Pam Gosal MSP replaced Annie Wells MSP
On 10 October 2024, Tess White MSP replaced Meghan Gallacher MSP.
It will be explicit, but it will be the way that sex acts are described in other legislation, so it will be familiar to MSPs and our justice agencies. It will make the law clearer, more understandable and, I hope, more enforceable.
