In relation to Palliative and End of Life Care we were made aware of good practice and arrangements between the SPS and Macmillan Cancer Support and were told others are brought in on palliative care standards as required.iOfficial Report 28 March 2017 column 30
We also congratulate the staff from NHS Forth Valley and the SPS who in 2016 won a Scottish Health Award for Integrated Care for Older People which included caring for prisoners approaching the end of their lives...

To ask the Scottish Government which companies in receipt of Regional Selective Assistance do not pay their employees the living wage. This is an operational matter for Scottish Enterprise (SE).
If we can nurture and grow that model, we can move to a happier, healthier society in which people’s housing needs are met, people have a real stake in the places they live in and neighbourhoods become vibrant, all of which can reduce the strain on public services.
This will be a particularly difficult time for many of Alex’s former colleagues and for his friends and family, particularly his wife, Moira. He was a huge part of their lives, and I know that so many will be feeling his loss deeply.
At the moment, however, we are not even clear about how NPF4 will be transitioned into our system, which is causing our members a large amount of concern with regard to live and upcoming planning applications.
