Here the UK has to be ready to “give”, even though actually our ability to use post-Brexit “freedoms” has been minor. Sincere 2022 defence and security cooperation is recognised as a mutual benefit but this would clearly be jeopardised by the UK seeming willing to sacrifice its links to the EU by appeasing Trump.
