At this final stage, it is also worth commending former Labour MSP Cathie Craigie and, more recently, Jenny Marra MSP, for their excellent work on behalf of deaf people.
Reflecting on the chamber’s structure, I see a semicircle of unity—a bridge, one might say—that brings together all the MSPs in the chamber, yet they are far from united.
I was amused by Patrick Harvie’s contortions on the issue. He said that he will allow his MSPs to make up their own minds on the debate, even though his MSPs were not in the chamber to hear it, but nothing surprises me from the Greens any more.
