SNIB: Role in COVID-19 recovery
It is hoped that SNIB will be launched in late 2020, in what will be a much different environment than was envisaged, with the Scottish economy feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This will be in addition to the Secretary of State's regulation-making powers already contained in the Bill, subject to the consultation mechanism under Clause 5(4) of the existing Bill where applicable.

Having worked hard for many years on the bill that became the Islands (Scotland) Act 2018, we had hoped that the act would have delivered the change that its fabric was designed to do.
We also fund Citizens Advice in England and Wales for the portion of its advocacy work that covers Scotland. The key is bringing all those outputs together and sharing them to ensure that, collectively, we deliver the right data to advocate for the right policy changes.
