Professor Patricia Findlay of Strathclyde University has chaired a small group which produced and published on the Scottish employability website: www.employabilityinscotland.com An updated Women’s Employment Summit Evidence Paper.
He has not been on the committee as long as Graham Simpson, but his concise method of questioning as produced good answers from ministers in the period that he has been with us.
I commend Oxfam Scotland, the Poverty Alliance, the Child Poverty Action Group and Nourish Scotland for the excellent work that they carried out in producing their longitudinal study, which culminated in the Menu for Change report, “Found Wanting”.
It is because I was told, and I could see from afar, that pushing through legislation without full scrutiny and amendments produced bad law. Here we are again, it seems.
I am sure that the cabinet secretary takes no joy from the rather unique situation of failures elsewhere in Government having produced additional revenue for his budget.
