Mixed model of delivery
In its discussion paper on legal aid, the Scottish Government identified two proposals for longer term reform of the legal aid system. These were developing a mixed model of provision (involving options like grant funding as well as case by case funding for solicitors in private practice) and embedding the user voice in the process, which is explored in the next section of this report.
We do not want them to be priced out of development. We need to ensure that developments can happen across the country in suitable and appropriate areas.
Following the discussion, the SPCB agreed to approve contingency funding for 3 temporary posts for one year from 1 November 2024, noting that this would further impact Officeholders contingency funding for the following financial year.
I feel that increased funding for predator control, in tandem with habitat management, will see an increase in species and I noted some prominent examples of this, in my petition preamble.
