Closing the Disability Employment Gap in Scotland - Access to Work scheme

Specifically, witnesses pointed out that— awards can take too long; the application process can be cumbersome; its scope is too restrictive (e.g. it will pay for equipment to support a disabled person in work but not for software updates); claims should involve the employer (currently it is led by the employee, but it was questioned what happens if the employee is off sick, for example); and the funding cap means that some potential employees miss out on support.

We were joined by a member of Dodma, Fyaupi Mwafongo, Deputy Director Response Department of disaster management Affairs (DoDMA), Republic of Malawi who gave an update on the Lean Season Food Insecurity Response Programme and the implementation of the food programme for 4.4 million people.
