Is it not symbolic that, at a time when there are no longer any Labour MEPs representing Scotland, no Labour MSPs are present in the chamber to ask questions of the cabinet secretary on the elections?
It is fine to have a commitment to change X, Y and Z at stage 3 but while there is a risk that potential perpetrators could get anonymity, too, I do not feel that, as responsible MSPs, we can agree to the amendment.
She is right to have highlighted the involvement of Labour MSPs, but I think that it is also fair to say that Scottish Conservative MSPs led a debate in Parliament that ultimately led to the defeat of the Government on the issue.
