I am sure that you will both be aware of the situation in North Lanarkshire fairly recently, when the grading of early-years workers was changed, which caused an enormous uproar. Every MSP, MP and councillor surgery was inundated for weeks afterwards.

I am familiar with no recourse to public funds, given that, as an MP and MSP, I have represented 95 per cent of the people who are seeking asylum in Scotland in Glasgow, with the balance being distributed to other local authorities in Scotland since 2022, when the dispersal area was expanded.
