S6M-00616: Edward Mountain: Outdoor Access Rights - That the Parliament acknowledges what it sees as the success of the Scottish Outdoor Access Code, which was developed in 2004 following the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003; believes that the guiding principles of the Code, which include respecting the interest of others, caring for the environment and people taking responsibility for their own actions, have served the Highlands and Islands and Scotland well; understands however that PB/S6/21/58 general misunderstandings about the Code have arisen since its establishment, and notes calls on the Scottish Government to launch a full review in order to update the Code to ensure that Scotland continues to have what it considers are world-leading outdoor access rights.

Complaint against Liz Smith MSP - Introduction
The Commissioner for Ethical Standards in Public Life in Scotland investigated the complaint and found that Liz Smith had not breached the Code of Conduct for MSPs.

Furthermore, it is a legal requirement under the Interests of Members of the Scottish Parliament Act 2006 and the Code of Conduct for MSPs.
Before taking part in any proceedings of the Parliament a member must always consider whether they have a declarable interest in relation to the particular matter being addressed in those proceedings.

Supplementary Legislative Consent Memorandum: delegated powers exercisable within devolved competence in the Employment Rights Bill - Review of relevant powers
The UK Government also considers it appropriate that the Scottish Parliament and the other legislatures can appropriately scrutinise instances where additional guidance and codes of practice may be placed on a statutory footing, especially as breaches of these codes may give rise to consequences for employers.
