The commissioners demand real leadership of reform and permanent, external, independent scrutiny because they clearly have no faith in current systems of accountability. What they ask of us as politicians is determination.

I will move on to the area of finance. When its annual accounts were signed off on 10 December 2021, the board of P&O Ferries Holdings considered the business to be “a going concern”.
Following the introduction of the Home Owner and Debtor Protection (Scotland) Act 2010, the Accountant in Bankruptcy took steps to address concerns that LILA applications were not subject to enough scrutiny.
We are living in such a globalised world that there is no one in this room who cannot immediately lay their hands on products that arrived on these shores in a shipping container.

To ask the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body whether it will pursue establishing an account to allow for the costs of COVID-19-related requirements at local offices to be paid directly by the Parliament.
