Public Petitions Committee 07 March 2019

Prescribed Drug Dependence and Withdrawal (PE1651) Our final petition for consideration this morning is PE1651, by Marion Brown on behalf of Recovery and Renewal, on prescribed drug dependence and withdrawal. I welcome Maurice Corry MSP to the meeting for our discussion on the petition.

Public Petitions Committee 08 November 2018

The approach is mixed and it would be good to get the views of the health boards that have not responded; I would have thought that they would all be keen to submit their views on such an issue. Emma Harper, who is an MSP for the South Scotland region, has been active in addressing issues that relate to ME in her area.

Meeting of the Parliament 08 March 2018

Meeting of the Parliament 09 November 2017

On the subject of regret and shame, does the First Minister regret being part of a Government that paid £10 million of taxpayers’ money to Amazon, a company that hardly has an excellent record when it comes to paying tax? If I had had to guess which MSP would leap to their feet today to defend the tax avoiders, I would probably have put Murdo Fraser quite c...

In that case, would it be likely to be a non-MSP who was being censured from the floor of the Parliament, and is that unique in legislation?

Public Petitions Committee 29 June 2017

I think that I mentioned the last time the petition came before the committee that, when I attended an away day for young carers, there was a round-table discussion at which they got to question MSPs and, boy, did they. I was struck by the personal and anecdotal evidence about some of the issues that they face.
