A consultation held in 2018 set out proposals for this period of little change to 2024, whilst a new policy is being developed to be rolled out from 2025.
Conversely, Scotland has taken a different approach, and has committed to maintain current structures until 2024, from which time a new policy will be in place.1Scottish Government. (2018, June 20).
Section 32 of the bill provides that the next report be submitted by 1 May 2024 which would allow for any recommendations on boundary changes to be implemented for the next election.
How will the gap left by that cut be filled in the short term, before we move to a new post-2024 policy? I do not really accept the characterisation of “unanimous”.

The Determination made by the Office of Rail and Road for the period 2019-2024 includes the full level of funding available from the Scottish Government to support Network Rail’s activities in Scotland.
