The Scottish Executive already provides substantial support to Alzheimer Scotland, the Dementia Services Development Centre, and carers' organisations, and has no special plans to recognise World Alzheimer's Day 2002 on 21 September.

To ask the Scottish Executive whether an adequate number of Care Commission Inspectors are now trained and in place to ensure full inspection and monitoring of standards in accordance with the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001. The employment and training of adequate inspection staff are operational matters for the Care Commission itself.

To ask the Scottish Executive what the costs are of providing treated water from (a) Loch Katrine and (b) Loch Lomond per megalitre of water treated. This is a matter for West of Scotland Water. The Chief Executive's reply is:These costs are not comparable, as the water supplied from each of the lochs is not treated to the same standards.
