Stage 1 report on the Wildlife Management and Muirburn (Scotland) Bill - Sections 9 - 19 - muirburn licensing
The 1946 Act provides that a person can only make muirburn during the muirburn season, which runs between 1 October to 15 April (or until 30 April if authorised by the landowner); muirburn can only be made outwith the muirburn season under licence from NatureScot. Best practice for muirburn is set out in the voluntary muirburn code.

Report from a partial evaluation of the Lobbying (Scotland) Act 2016 - Reporting timescales
The Committee is therefore supportive of shortening the reporting timetable to a quarterly basis in line with international best practice. It is also supportive of reporting requirements being harmonised as proposed by the Lobbying Registrar and for the starting point for reporting requirements to be from the date at which the lobbying activity took place.
