That view will always have to be traded off against the views of people who want the wild to remain wild. Those people do not all live in the wild or in remote communities, although some do, of course.
As we look back, we can see just what a transformative impact the NHS in Scotland has had on the lives of those living here, but also on the lives of millions of people around the world.
It is telling us about what we can collectively do to improve our children’s lives and how we can better understand the lives of adults and young people who have lived through the most challenging circumstances.
When will we achieve parity and consistency of access across all local authorities and all health boards, so that every child in Scotland, no matter where they live, has access to diagnosis and the treatment and support that they rightly deserve?
Although there are aspects that are measurable, which we will track, there are also real lives at stake. The change that is happening on the ground, which is not always measurable, is very important, too.
