I will direct my first question to One Parent Families Scotland. Despite our best efforts, the United Kingdom Government is going ahead with the biggest-ever cut to social security since the 1930s by removing the £20-a-week uplift to universal credit.
Every single day over the past 10 months—for almost a year, now—I have sought to do nothing other than my best, and to ensure that the Government is also doing its best, to steer the country through the pandemic as safely as possible.
International students who arrive in Scotland from certain countries have to quarantine for two weeks, as well. We are advised that that is the best way to keep people safe.
We will continue to work collaboratively with stakeholders to consider all the evidence and explore how best to support implementation and remove any unnecessary barriers, in order to ensure that all care leavers are given the support that is best suited to their individual needs.
What the convener has described would cover all the groups, not cause any disturbance in any way and encourage best practice. Ensuring best practice is the right approach.
