The petitioners call on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Executive to develop its current gender-based policy on domestic abuse to include all other forms of abuse that take place in a domestic setting.At its meeting on 12 November 2003, the committee agreed to ask the Executive whether it intended to conduct more research into the matter in order to determine the scale of the problem and to tailor policies and resources to meet the needs of those victims accordingly.The Executive's response states:"The Scottish Executive has accepted the definition of domestic abuse contained in the National Strategy to Address Domestic Abuse in Scotland...
