General Principles of the Bill
There is general agreement that the Bill would help to improve transparency and accountability in the charity sector, as well as strengthening OSCR’s current powers and achieving greater consistency with other UK jurisdictions.

Section 50 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2006
Section 50 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2006 gives councils powers to pay missing shares where a maintenance account has been set up.
The power in section 50 is not restricted to circumstances where a maintenance order has been served by the council.
Decision: The Committee agreed to continue to scrutinise audit and accountability arrangements on EU replacement funds after taking evidence from the Auditor General for Scotland on “Audit Scotland’s strategic priorities and future work programme”..
