Remote and Rural Healthcare Inquiry - Whole System approach
This idea of "silo-working" was also a topic of discussion during informal engagement with patient campaign groups - with some participants suggesting that health boards, the Scottish Government, and many other decision-making bodies appear to operate in silos without clear lines of communication or accountability.
The Committee heard frequent complaints from patient groups that NHS Boards fail to listen and that there is a lack of accountability of executive and non-executive directors who sit on NHS Boards.
