To ask the Scottish Government whether it has used enforcement action in relation to the illegal importation of eggs from countries not compliant with the European Welfare of Laying Hens Directive introduced on 1 January 2012.
Therefore, when the chairman stands for his accounts session, he knows that he is being held accountable not just for what he has done, but for what all the line managers—who are essentially extensions of him—have done in the line of duty with their partners.
Given the Government’s apparent willingness—which I welcome, of course—to correct the cross-referencing errors, I think that, when it re-lays the instrument, it ought to take the opportunity to remove from regulation 2 the ambiguity that the convener explained.
