To summarise, the Scottish Executive's view is that education authorities should make arrangements for Gaelic-medium education where demand exists and that the Standards in Scotland's Schools etc Act 2000 requires local authorities to state how they will provide for Gaelic-medium education.

Secondly, will the minister consider the location of further public sector jobs in West Lothian, noting that the area currently has a lower than average share of such jobs in Scotland?
