A key change at the point of devolution was the move in the status of the heads of individual departments of the Scottish Office. Pre-devolution, each of them was a principal accounting officer; post-devolution, the holder of my post is the single accountable officer for the whole organisation.

There is little Gaelic provision in Dumfries and Galloway and not a great tradition of the language, despite what was said earlier. Despite the somewhat pre-emptive strike from the board's spokesperson about Dumfries and Galloway, I am not sure that a case can be built on one student who was at Jordanhill several years ago.
