Scottish Government Apology
On 7 November 2017, the day after the Bill was introduced, the First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon MSP apologised on behalf of the State to men convicted of historical same sex offences in Scotland.
The Bill was introduced by the Cabinet Secretary for the Rural Economy and Connectivity, Fergus Ewing MSP, on 10 May 2017. The Bill completed Stage 2 on 13 December 2017.
