You would not necessarily need to do that now. We could have people living and working in more rural and remote areas and, importantly, as Willie Coffey said, enabling people to live and work in the communities in which they grew up.

As pointed out, many communities in Scotland live rather separate lives and the native population generally does not perceive them as part of Scottish society.
Let us be clear that living on £7,000 a year is living in poverty—we should not be satisfied about that.There are choices to make about revenue raising.
