Domestic Abuse (Protection) (Scotland) Bill
The Domestic Abuse (Protection) (Scotland) Bill was introduced in to the Parliament by the Cabinet Secretary for Justice, Humza Yousaf MSP, on 2 October 2020. The Parliament designated the Justice Committee as the lead committee for Stage 1 consideration of the Bill.
It is a Member's Bill and the Member in Charge is Richard Lyle MSP. The Local Government and Communities Committee was appointed lead committee to report to Parliament on the general principles of the Bill at Stage 1.
At the Covid-19 Committee's meeting on 11 March 2021, the Cabinet Secretary for the Constitution, Europe and External Affairs, Michael Russell MSP, moved Motion S5M-24235 in his name— That the COVID-19 Committee recommends that the Coronavirus (Scotland) Acts (Amendment of Expiry Dates) Regulations 2021 [draft] be approved.
