Where children are looked after by the local authority away from their parents’ care, local authority social work practitioners must make recommendations on what level of contact (if any) is appropriate and if there is a need for contact to be supervised.

The NHS will test people who have symptoms, trace people who may have become infected by spending time in close contact with someone who tests positive, and then support those close contacts to self-isolate.
