It is worth noting that the decision to prescribe any medicine for an individual, and which medicine to prescribe, is entirely one for the clinician in charge of the individual’s care to make, having taken into account their clinical condition.

It found that 95 per cent of people support pharmacists advising on medicines; 87 per cent think that it is important that pharmacists prescribe medicines; 89 per cent think that pharmacists should be the first port of call for common clinical conditions; and 81 per cent think that pharmacists should monitor, review and adjust medicines for long-term conditions.
