If you were asking me as an economist—and not as a member of the Scottish Fiscal Commission—which Scottish policy issues that might affect productivity I would look at, my answer would be Scottish education policy and the new Scottish national investment bank, for example. However, we have no role in evaluating education policy or the likely effects of the Scottish national investment bank.
