As stated in the Chamber in response to a point raised by Rob Gibson, the Scottish Government intends to hold a debate, in Plenary, following summer recess, to allow for a discussion and exploration of issues such as food authenticity and labelling.

He had a number of discussions with Scottish Government officials, and also met with the First Minister during the 2012 summer recess. The First Minister subsequently wrote to Professor Tierney to ask for his advice (based on international experience) on the practicalities of holding a two question referendum.
This is expected to be laid before the Scottish Parliament shortly after the 2012 Summer Recess and will be followed by a Registers of Scotland Fees Order and Rules.
To address this we commissioned research based on a small sample of Members to look at a typical working week during parliamentary sitting time and also during recess. A copy of this is also available on our web pages http://allowancesreview.scottish.parliament.uk/papers.htm 2.9.
There was also a need to liaise with the Health and Safety Executive and the United Kingdom Administrations on the outcome of consultations on the proposals that precluded a substantially earlier transposition date. The committee may wish to draw another matter to the attention of the lead committee.
I am not saying that that cannot be done but, as we know the policy objective and the date of delivery of that objective, can we not start work on the issues now?
