I am sure that members recall that our absolute commitment to abolish the tax encountered some difficulties prior to the summer recess. I met ministers from the Department for Work and Pensions last week and I am happy to report substantial progress.

That the Parliament agrees the following parliamentary recessdates under Rule 2.3.1: 11 to 18 February 2017 (inclusive), 1 to 16 April 2017 (inclusive), 1 July to 3 September 2017 (inclusive), 7 to 22 October 2017 (inclusive) and 23 December 2017 to 7 January 2018 (inclusive).
Major capital projects usually span more than one financial year, therefore the expected completion date is noted below. It should also be noted that the completion date is an estimate which may be subject to change.
