We contacted the Maritime and Coastguard Agency about some of the concerns that Fergus Ewing has expressed, and it indicated that there may be stability issues if vessels need to carry an extra tow bar on deck. Therefore, we have agreed to consider alternatives to different tow bar lengths ahead of the introduction of a second SSI later in the year.

Free school meals for all would cost roughly £170 million per year in extra revenue costs alone. We do not have that £170 million per year and if we did, I do not believe that many parents or pupils in Scotland's schools would want us to spend it all on free school meals above other health and education priorities.

I hope that the Executive will consider that at stage 2.The Health and Community Care Committee has concerns about the designation of deputy ombudsmen. We should not end up with an extra layer of bureaucracy because we have set up a series of doors, with one door on top of them.
