I do not know whether time could be found for that, but my experiences as a fresh MSP have given me invaluable information about the people I represent and what they want from their MSPs.
We have to strike a balance between what is a policy issue and what is generally an issue for the local MSP or MSPs to take up with the minister directly, as to whether the Government would provide gap funding.

As I made clear in my statement, under the MSP code of conduct it is entirely permissible to take an active role in an issue in another constituency where one has the agreement of the relevant constituency MSP.
I think that we are all signed up to the concept; I certainly sense a lot of agreement on the issue when we MSPs are in smaller groups at committee meetings and are, perhaps, behaving more sensibly.
I am delighted to have been called to speak in this debate heralding the success of Scotland’s winter festivals. As an Edinburgh MSP, I make no apology for using Edinburgh as a great example of a winter festival.
