We did not intend to lay the orders on unsuitable accommodation until March, but we brought them forward because of the situation that we find ourselves in.
When grants were announced to help businesses get through these tough times, Fiona Hyslop, the Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Fair Work and Culture, told the Scottish Parliament on 18 March that grants would be issued per property.
All outstanding recommendations from earlier assessments have now been addressed. On 29 March 2018, the Scottish funding council wrote to my predecessor proposing the assignation of Argyll College to UHI as it was satisfied that the college now meets all the fundable body criteria that are set out in the 2005 act.
In relation to the Council Tax Reduction (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2017 (SSI 2017/41), which the committee considered on 7 March this year, the committee suggested to the Scottish Government that framing a new discrete scheme could avoid the committee’s concern were that scheme to comply with the requirements of exception 10.
Additionally, an extensive consultation was carried out from March to June this year, in which views were garnered from individuals and organisations with an interest, such as parents, schools, individuals, local authorities and bus companies.
