Police Ethics Bill Stage 3 Letter from SPF 13 January 2025

Firstly, can I point out that the SPF believes we require a proper vetting process that gives confidence in policing and the public confidence in the Police Officers of Scotland. With that said, the introduction of vetting at stage 2 of the bill causes concern, as at this time we currently see misapplication of vetting procedures within Police Scotland.
