The minister will be aware that there is a great deal of concern about the repeal of the code. The previous Minister for Education and Young People promised consultation on the matter.
A partnership approach will be taken through the Human Resources Forum (HRF), to discuss implications on whether the code should be voluntary or compulsory.

To ask the Scottish Executive what plans it has to introduce a code of conduct outlining minimum standards of ethical practice to which all companies directly and indirectly contractually involved with public sector projects must conform and what issues any such code would cover.
It may be printed and published in documentary form at a later date.We should hold a discussion on the general principles of a code of conduct for members and of a guide to the rules relating to the code of conduct.
