You go on to mention the difference between the two in respect of accountability mechanisms. What, if any, would be the shortfall in accountability mechanisms under the proposed model?
Like some of the other centres, we have undertaken particular pieces of research into ACEs, given that we very strongly believe that young people who have had ACEs are overrepresented. The current framework accounts for about 10 adverse experiences.
Have there been any discussions about accountability, or is it appropriate to consider accountability being written into the single outcome agreements or the joint health protection plans, for instance, in setting the vision for the future and expectations?
We were concerned that the bill did not outline how the Scottish Government would be held accountable if it did not meet the targets outlined, and how issues that affect island and remote rural areas would be addressed.
