Impact of changes to Creative Scotland's grant-in-aid for 2023-24
As noted above, a considerable development which occurred during the course of our pre-budget scrutiny was the reinstatement of the £6.6 million reduction to Creative Scotland’s grant-in-aid for 2023-24 in the Autumn Budget Revision, and we consider the impact of this development below.

PE1743: Amend the law to protect the rights of pre-1989 Scottish Secure Tenants
Petition by John Foster on behalf of Govan Community Council and others calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to amend the Rent (Scotland) Act 1984 to prevent disproportionate rent increases being set for Scottish Secure Tenants.

The Committee's preferred solution is for Standing Orders to revert to the original pre-2012 deadline of 12.00. This would bring Standing Orders into line with the current practice, and would mean that the lodging deadline which Members are currently using, in practice, would not change.
The report also noted that:
Net support (% saying ‘good idea’ - % saying ‘bad idea’) amongst residents increased significantly after the implementation of the schemes (from +58% to +63%), suggesting that some pre-implementation concerns did not materialise or became more acceptable.
The groups most vulnerable to air pollution are children, the elderly and those with pre-existing medical conditions. There are also significant economic costs associated with air pollution, including health care, loss of workdays through sick leave, rehabilitation of the environment and damaged buildings, and reductions in crop yield.
