I have been contacted by a number of constituents in Gretna and east Annandale who are concerned that wedding guests are travelling from higher-prevalence parts of the UK, such as the south of England, despite the cross-border travel ban, because weddings and small receptions are permitted in Dumfries and Galloway, which is in level 1.

The draft amendment regulations implement the changes that were announced in the First Minister’s statement on Tuesday and make a tweak to the rules regarding marriage receptions and funeral wakes in level 0 and level 1.

The regulations allow marriage and civil partnership receptions and funeral wakes to take place with slightly larger numbers than before, as the household limit on those does not apply.
