At the time, I was involved with the Gypsy Traveller community and believed that the work of the Equal Opportunities Committee was a strong foundation on which to make progress on Gypsy Travellers' rights. I thought that the groundbreaking work that had been done would put Scotland at the forefront of human rights development.Unfortunately, the committee's recommendations have not been progressed as quickly as everyone hoped that they would be.
