Pending these discussions, the Scottish Government currently recommends that the Scottish Parliament withholds consent to Part 1, Part 2 (chapters 1 and 2), Schedules 1-3 and Part 5 of the Public Office (Accountability) Bill as introduced.

Although not directly linked to Part 1, several environmental organisations suggested public bodies’ accountability should be strengthened to support delivery and mainstreaming.
In relation to the factors taken into account by the Parole Board when considering release on parole, its website states:
It will take into account information about the original offence from the trial judge's report.
Without taking into account all these factors and solely focussing on medical treatment it is unlikely for stability to be achieved causing more harm to the individual.
