The Government has given a long-term commitment to the Scottish National Investment Bank. Although, as the committee will understand, I am not at the stage of defining particular budget numbers, the Government is committed to supporting the Scottish National Investment Bank and all of its purposes in the long term.

This argument is very strange, because people do not know the specifics of what they are talking about. Everyone in this room has a bank account. Those accounts will be with various banks—some of them will be UK banks, but one of them is, ultimately, a Spanish bank and another is, ultimately, an Australian bank.
