Victim Notification Scheme (PE899) The next petition is PE899 by Hazel Reid, which calls on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Executive to review the operation of the victim notification scheme to ensure that the victims of serious violent and sexual crimes are given the right to receive information about the release from prison of an offender who has committed a crime against them, regardless of the length of sentence that was imposed.At its meeting on 7 December 2005, the committee agreed to seek the views of the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland, the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, the Scottish Prison Service, the Parole Board for Scotland, Safeguarding Communities-Reducing Offending and the Scottish Executive.
