On 5 November 2024, as part of its work programme discussion, the Committee agreed to undertake some post-legislative scrutiny and, in particular, to explore the impact of the delay of the implementation of all or some provisions within the following three Acts:
Female Genital Mutilation (Protection and Guidance) (Scotland) Act 2020
The Children (Scotland) Act 2020
Domestic Abuse Protection (Scotland) Act 2021
The Committee held sessions in December and June with the Minister for Parliamentary Business seeking to understand why provisions have not been implemented and what was being done to ensure that they were.
