The artistic model of a soap is supposed to be that you know when it is on and you sit down and watch. We are all told that linear television is dead, but everybody watches a football match and everybody is dependent on linear television for live news.
Attitudes towards us are also worsening. Disabled people’s lives are often portrayed as tragic and worthless in the media, on TV and in literature, and these illustrations promote and support the concept that people would be better off dead if they cannot walk, talk, eat, or go to the toilet without assistance.
We will continue to strongly support expanding the offer for audiences to enjoy Scottish international football and other major sporting events on free-to-air broadcast TV.
